DESIGN SHOWS
LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL
Brokered Nigel Coates to design the London Design Festival’s VIP/press lounge at the V&A museum. An example of “three-dimensional PR” at play, with the architect’s installation/furniture designs observed and enjoyed by the world’s visiting design media and industry players.
SPECTRUM
Spectrum was the UK's leading trade exhibition for furniture, lighting, textiles and accessories for commercial use. Besides promoting the event in the media, Yvonne secured MP Peter Mandelson to open the exhibition.
A series of initiatives were instigated including teaming up with Blueprint magazine to commission RCA graduates to design exhibitors stands (Ab Rogers/Shona Kitchen’s concept for FSB@Allgood – a row of doors, each with a different handle which upon using, released a different piece of music); inviting Inflate to produce the plastic exhibition guide case and exterior podium installation. Design Week produced an accompanying design guide.
Spectrum visitors were offered a complimentary drink or wine with meal at the nearby Royal Garden Hotel and Selfridges offered Spectrum visitors a special discount on Knoll and Vitra furniture stocked in the store.
